Noticed at the 50hr. oil change was this burned cowl. Not a big deal now that it has been caught early. This is a common problem and easily solved. Notice the brown spot.
The fix is a simple one. Vans sells "cowl tape", a thin aluminum sticky backed sheet you put in place to reflect the heat. I had already bought some a long time ago, but thought I'd wait till I saw if there was a problem, and wallah, there it was. So I quickly through that aluminum sticky sheet in there. Problem solved... and glad I was keeping an eye on it cause inspecting the inside of the cowl would not likely be on anyone's list of things to look at unless they knew, as I did, that this is a known problem. So watch out. Or better yet, just put the tape in there from the beginning and be done with it.
